Michael R. Cozzetta, a member of the Class of 1980, was a four-year letter winner in swimming. He continues to hold the school record in the 100 Freestyle. Dr. Cozzetta graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1984 and the New England College of Optometry in Boston in 1987. Upon his return to Pueblo, Dr. Cozzetta worked for various optometrists before opening his own practice in 1992.

Dr. Cozzetta has served as a member of the Lions Club of Pueblo, Dream Weavers, and the HARP Foundation. In previous years, he organized a golf tournament in collaboration with the Department of Social Services to generate funds for sexually and physically abused children in Pueblo County. The tournament was named "Cozzetta's Annual Golf Tournament for Kids".
