We are no longer a membership-based organization requiring an annual payment to remain in an active member status. All East High students are automatic alumni. Even if you didn’t attend East, your interest in East as a family member of a current or past student, your status as a current or former teacher or other member of the East staff, or as a friend of East, your recognition of East’s unique contribution to the lives of its students and our community, the Alumni Foundation considers you to be part of the East Alumni family.
The success of any volunteer organization is based on its leadership and its membership. The East Alumni Foundation, established late in 2003, is fortunate to have a core of Board members that have been part of the Foundation since its establishment. Another small group of Alumni have been regular Board meeting attendees for many years, and some have served as Board members. This consistency has helped establish a strong organization, working in partnership with East’s Administration, to promote the Alumni Foundation’s mission of providing a means to assure the school continues to be a vital force in the community.
The Alumni Foundation can expand its role in the development of the East student body and school programming through participation by a larger, more active Alumni base – one that spans the 60 years of East’s existence. So much more can be done with extra hands and help. If you have time available and a passion to see East succeed, consider attending Alumni Foundation meetings and sponsored events.
