East High Alumni Foundation scholarships provide financial assistance to graduating seniors during their first year at college or university. However, now, due to a generous alum and his wife who wish to remain anonymous, a recurring scholarship is available. This scholarship is in the amount of $5000 and is renewable for an additional 3 years making its value $20,000! Based on available funds, other scholarships are awarded and may be combined for amounts no less than $1000. Students are selected based on a combination of academic performance, participation in activities and athletics, and citizenship.
Scholarship application forms are available in the Counselor’s Office from January to March of each year and are to be completed and returned by early April. Scholarships are announced at the Senior Awards Assembly in May.
The Foundation has awarded more than $138,000 through the 2023 school year, and $28,500 has been awarded for the 2024-2025 school year.
