Honorable Gilbert Romero

Gilbert Romero, a 1971 graduate, attended the University of Colorado, earning a bachelor of arts degree. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1979 and later attend Harvard University where he obtained a masters degree.

Romero has served the Pueblo community and the State of Colorado in politics, in military leadership, and in law. He served as a state representative, working for social reform, public and higher education funding, and community job training. His career experience includes Pueblo County Legal Services, staff attorney; Pueblo County Deputy State Public Defender; Pueblo County Chief Deputy District Attorney; University of Southern Colorado faculty member; and, Colorado State Representative.

Romero has served on the House Judiciary Committee, the Joint Budget and Appropriations Committee, the University of Colorado Management Information Systems Strategic Task Force, and the Mexican/American Legislators Policy Institute Board of Directors.
