Thomas B. Autobee, D.D.S.

Dr. Autobee, Class of 1969, attended Colorado College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then studied dentistry at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1977 with a Doctor of Dentistry degree. He returned to Pueblo where he has practiced dentistry for 31 years.

Determined to give back to the Pueblo community that nurtured and schooled him so effectively, Dr. Autobee helped found the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce. To this day, he continues to be an active member. Another significant contribution to the Pueblo community is his vision for a better community through responsible water resource management. As a result, Dr. Autobee currently serves as director on the Pueblo Board of Water Works.

A major interest of Dr. Autobee is his driving force to improve educational opportunities for Pueblo's children. Recognizing the lack of after-hours homework opportunity and tutor assistance for many of Pueblo's children, Dr. Autobee co-founded in the early 1990's, and financially supported, the Pueblo Homework Hotline which is still viable today. He is also an active member of the Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation, which provides college scholarship assistance for needy Pueblo graduates regardless of ethnicity. For years, Dr. Autobee has provided free, basic dental exams for all children in the schools. For twelve years, he sponsored letter jackets for his alma mater, Risley Middle School. This allowed academic letter winners the opportunity to have a standard jacket to wear their academic letters proudly and serve as role models for other students to excel in academics.
