Ronald J. Robinson, 1964 East High graduate and student body vice-president, has held numerous positions in inventing and developing various uses of technology to find and manage petroleum resources. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Texaco Technology, Inc. Through his extraordinary leadership in the energy industry, Robinson stongly established himself as a credit to East High.
His commendations include membership on then Texas Governor Bush's Science and Technology Council, the Board of Directors of the Houston Advanced Research Center, lifetime member of the Greater Houston Partnership, member of the Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Advisory Board, member of the Texas A&M University Vision 2020 Committee, founding member of the Mobil, British Petroleum, Chevron, and Texaco International Research Consortium, founding member of the Global Petroleum Research Council, and director of the Indonesian-American Business Association.
