Richard Lyles, Ph.D.

Richard (Dick) Lyles has enjoyed a diversity of successes since his graduation with the class of 1965.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Engineering with a minor in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy; an MA in Human Behavior from the United States International  University; and a Doctorate in Business Administration from California Western University.

After graduation from the US Naval Academy in 1969 he completed two major deployments and two special missions to Viet Nam.    He left the Navy as a lieutenant and began a career as a management consultant.

In 1974 he founded R. I. Lyles & Associates, a consulting and training company offering services to clients around the world.  For more than 30 years he served as its Chairman and CEO and since then has served as CEO of several other prestigious companies.  He is globally recognized as a leading expert in the field of leadership and organizational development.   

In 1976 he was a founding member of Maric College (now Kaplan College) and served as its first President and CEO. He has served as visiting or extension faculty and   guest lecturer at several well-known universities.  He is a prolific writer having authored or co-authored nine books which have been translated into 43 languages.

Currently he is CEO of Origin Entertainment, a company with five movies in production including, “I Thirst,” an authorized biopic of Mother Teresa.  He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Genesis Initiative, a non-profit organization designed to help fund the development and production of wholesome movies. 

 Today Dick can be heard on AM/FM and Sirius satellite radio as the host of the “Catholic Business Hour with Dick Lyles” on the Eternal World Television Network (EWTN). 

He has been married to Martha for 46 years.  They have three children and seven grandchildren.
