John Caligaris is an East High School graduate of the Class of 1977. Since his graduation, John Caligaris’s heart has remained with East High School throughout the intervening years, so much so, that John has spent a significant amount of his spare time supporting and advocating for East High School.

John has exhibited strong leadership skills in the activities he has facilitated on behalf of his alma mater. He has served as a member of the East High School Alumni Foundation Board of Directors for a decade, including acting as the Foundation Board Treasurer since 2003.

As East High School Foundation Treasurer, John Caligaris demonstrated his leadership proficiency by developing and starting the East High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006. The East High School Hall of Fame honors past East High student athletes, who excelled in athletic prowess and all-star recognition and accomplishment. John has been chairman of the East High School Athletic Hall of Fame since its inception.

Furthermore, the East High School Alumni Foundation raised $375,000 to build the Alumni Heritage Hall. In addition, the East High Alumni Foundation raised over $18,000 in 2006 to purchase new East High School Football team uniforms, which reflected the original, traditional East High School colors of Gold and White. He also coordinates and supplies the vehicle for Cannon caroúsel week car bash festivities. John Caligaris has played a significant role in helping the East High School Alumni Foundation Board achieve those goals.

John Caligaris is also a successful Pueblo entrepreneurial businessman; he is the co- owner of Dominic and Sons Paint and Body Shop/Used Cars enterprise. John has utilized his skilled business workers to serve East High’s repair needs, including supplying material and labor to restore the Cannon trailer and alumni reader board signs. The firm provided a field tractor for baseball and softball. Along with his brothers, John has continued to support and donate for various projects and programs at the East High School campus.
