James Potestio was inducted into the Golden Eagle Hall of Fame as a recipient of the Service Award to East High School. Potestio, a 30-year retired teacher was honored for his service and dedication to the school.

He was instrumental in the design and production of the East Pride sculpture for the school as well as his dedication to the East athletic teams and his financial support toward low-income students. He often purchased letter jackets for student athletes who could not afford one.
