Eddie Bailey, a member of the Class of 1964, is an award-winning teacher. He was a member of East's football and track teams, and was involved in the science club and the debate team. Bailey earned a bachelor's degree from Southern Colorado State College and a master's degree in computers and education from Lesley College.

He is a recipient of the Crystal Apple Award which is given to the outstanding teacher in Colorado Springs School District 11. Bailey also has been involved in the Boy Scouts as a troop leader and has served as a teacher for the Jason Project which is an after-hours science program for youth, ages 11 and 12.
