Bill Corder had untiring and dedicated service to East High School both as a teacher and coach for many years. His career at East began in 1964 as a science teacher, head wrestling coach, and assistant football coach. In 1969 he assumed duties as head football coach, a position he held until 1981. At that time, Corder accepted the position as Activites Director.
Among the many outstanding qualities that Corder possessed was the ability to think up original ideas, organizational skills, and "people" skills. His ability to motivate students will always be remembered. He would impress upon any student he came in contact with that "if you believe, then anything is possible". The East High Pride Stick is still remembered by former students and faculty.
